The objective of this project was to rebrand and portray The Prophets rock band from the 1980s in an alternative music genre based on a specific time period. The genre chosen was psychedelic rock from the 60s. The design recreates the silkscreen effect which was an affordable way of printing during the time.

The Underlying Themes and Meanings Behing the Project:
The main inspiration behind the project was the emerging wave of feminism during the 1960s. For the album cover, blue and pink were chosen as a way to represent clashing gender norms. There is emphasis on the female form since there was a lot more risk taking of sexuality during the counterculture decade. The raunchiness yet bold statement of Andy Warhol’s album cover of the banana he did for The Velvet Underground was one of the references for designing the album cover. The piece is meant to be empowering yet keeping the risqué quality.
